Georgia finished 7-1 in the SEC with its 35-10 win over visiting then-No. 10 Texas last week. Gunner Stockton accounted for all five Bulldog touchdowns, throwing for four and running for the other, finishing 24-of-29 for 229 yards and an interception. Noah Thomas caught two scoring passes while London Humphreys and Lawson Luckie also made TD grabs. Georgia needs help to reach the SEC title game, with Texas A&M at 7-0 in conference play and Ole Miss and Alabama each at 6-1. A Texas win over Texas A&M on Nov. 28 clinches a spot for the Bulldogs, who can also get in if Auburn beats Alabama in the Iron Bowl next week.
Charlotte took its seventh straight loss last week, falling 28-7 to visiting UTSA to drop to 0-7 in the American. The 49ers mustered only 197 yards of offense, with Grayson Loftis finishing 13-of-24 for 100 yards passing and the team gaining just 51 yards on the ground. The defense gave up 521 yards to the Roadrunners, which doesn’t bode well for a matchup at Georgia.
