Kentucky got back to the .500 mark with a 42-10 non-conference victory over visiting Tennessee Tech, handing the FCS squad its first loss of the season. Seth McGowan ran for 72 yards and three touchdowns, while Cutter Boley finished 18-of-21 for 236 yards and a scoring pass while adding a TD on the ground. Kendrick Law caught 11 passes for 124 yards. Hardley Gilmore grabbed a touchdown reception as well.
The teams have exchanged road wins over the last four seasons, with Vanderbilt claiming a 20-17 victory last season. Kentucky leads the all-time series 48-44-4, with its 2021 win vacated due to NCAA sanctions.
