LSU got its first win since coach Brian Kelly was fired on Oct. 26, getting a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to upend visiting Arkansas 23-22 last week in the Battle for the Boot. Michael Van Buren Jr. capped a 12-play, 92-yard scoring march with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Bauer Sharp, with Damian Ramos’ extra point providing the winning margin. Caden Durham ran for 65 yards and a score while Van Buren was 21-of-31 for 221 yards and a TD. Zavion Thomas caught six balls for 80 yards as LSU came back from an early 14-0 deficit before having to rally again from being down 22-16.
Western Kentucky comes in with three straight wins, most recently a 42-26 triumph over visiting Middle Tennessee last week. Rodney Tisdale Jr. threw for 371 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, adding a rushing score, while Marvis Parrish ran for 102 yards on 12 carries, and La’Vell Wright added two rushing TDs on the ground. Matthew Henry made seven receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown. The Hilltoppers are 6-1 in Conference USA and can clinch a spot in the conference championship game with a win next week at Jacksonville State.
The teams have met twice previously, with LSU taking both contests, most recently a 48-20 win at home on Oct. 24, 2015.
This is a great college football matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
