Cameras Capture Viral Shedeur and Deion Sanders Moment Before QB’s First NFL Start
The Cleveland Browns (2-8) are set to take on the Las Vegas Raiders (2-8) on Sunday, marking the first career start for rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders, whom the Browns selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.
Sanders took over last week and played the entire second half after fellow rookie QB Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion, finishing 4-of-16 for 68 yards and an interception.
However, he had received no first-team reps in practice, something head coach Kevin Stefanski made clear after the game. Now, with a full week of preparation under his belt, Sanders gets his shot — and it was no surprise to see his biggest supporter waiting for him in the tunnel pregame, as he shared a heartwarming moment with his father and former college coach, Deion Sanders.
“A special moment with Dad before his first pregame speech,” Browns posted

Fans reacted to the interaction:
“Two legends in the same tunnel,” a fan said.
Someone else added, “Raiders fan here. Rooting for Shedeur to have a great game and show the NFL what he can do.”
Another person wrote, “He will ball out today. Watch.”
“How do people hate this?!?!? Beautiful,” one more fan commented.

Shedeur spent two seasons playing in the FCS at Jackson State for his father before following him to Boulder, where he played another two years and set several single-season program records. His time at Colorado also came alongside 2024 Heisman Trophy winner and No. 2 overall pick, Travis Hunter of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
