Staff Shocked When They Hear Knock From Inside Coffin Ahead of Cremation
The staff at a temple in Thailand were shocked after they heard faint knocking from inside a coffin that a family member brought in for cremation. They then discovered that the woman inside was still alive.
Pairat Soodthoop, the general and financial affairs manager at Wat Rat Prakhong Tham, a Buddhist temple in the outskirts of Bangkok, told The Associated Press that he was “was a bit surprised” after hearing the knocking sound. “So I asked them to open the coffin, and everyone was startled,” he said. “I saw her opening her eyes slightly and knocking on the side of the coffin. She must have been knocking for quite some time.”
This is a developing story and will be updated with additional information.
