Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss Sends Message to Fans Amid Lane Kiffin Rumors
The Ole Miss Rebels sit just one game away from clinching a spot in the College Football Playoff and likely hosting a playoff game.
On Friday, Nov. 28, the Rebels will face off against rival Mississippi State with in-state bragging rights on the line. While winning Friday’s game and securing a College Football Playoff spot should be top of mind for Ole Miss, the program has been in the shadow of rumors surrounding head coach Lane Kiffin.
He’s received heavy interest from both Florida and LSU, who reportedly have offers of upwards of $90 million on the table for the Rebels’ head coach.

Kiffin is expected to meet with Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter after Friday afternoon’s rivalry game as fans wait with bated breath to find out if he’s leaving for an SEC rival or staying in Oxford. While Kiffin dominates the headlines, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss offered a clear message for fans: the team is focused on the task at hand, and the rumors surrounding their head coach won’t impact their preparation.
“To our fans, this team is completely locked in, living in the moment, and staying true to our 1-0 mindset for the Egg Bowl and future games. We are unbothered by anything about next year and fully trusting Coach Kiffin’s leadership to keep us moving toward our goals!” Chambliss said on X ahead of the massive rivalry game.
Ole Miss can make the SEC title game with a win over Mississippi State and losses by Texas A&M to Texas and Alabama to Auburn.
