Scrubs Reboot – Release Date, Where to Watch


It has been 14 years since it last graced TV screens, “Scrubs” is back. In this article you’ll find out where to watch the surprise reboot, as well as when the first episode premieres, and both new and returning characters.

First airing in 2001 on NBC, the Emmy award-winning medical sitcom followed the lives of employees at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital. It ran for a total of nine seasons across both NBC and ABC, achieving a peak of almost 16 million viewers in season 2.

The show ended in 2010, with viewers dropping to just under four million. But that wasn’t to be the last we saw from star Zach Braff and co. Keep reading for everything you need to know about the “Scrubs Reboot”, or in other words, “Scrubs Season 10.”

Scrubs Reboot Release Date

The “Scrubs Reboot” premieres February 25, 2026, on ABC and will stream on Hulu.

Announced via the official Scrubs Instagram on November 25, 2025, news of the revival generated scores of positive comments. Braff wrote underneath the post: “I missed y’all so much it hurts sometimes.”

Scrubs Reboot Where to Watch

“Scrubs” Season 10, otherwise known as the “Scrubs Reboot,” will air on ABC. This follows on from “Scrubs” Seasons 8-10, which aired on the network. It was greenlit by ABC in July and comes from original series creator Bill Lawrence.

“Big chunks of the creative team behind the camera, and most of it from in front of the camera, are all super invested and excited, so very close,” Lawrence told Deadline in October 2024.

Scrubs Reboot Story

Lawrence teases J.D. has fallen on hard times in the “Scrubs Reboot.” “And for a while, it just tickled me for him to be playing a doctor again,” he tells Deadline. “I’m like, what is J.D.’s life — that’s straight from the book — what if J.D.’s life had taken a bad turn.”

ABC’s official synopsis for the Scrubs reboot reads: “JD (Braff) & Turk (Faison) scrub in together for the first time in a long time – medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”

Scrubs Reboot Cast

The “Scrubs Reboot” features a returning cast of Zach Braff as J.D., Donald Faison as Turk, Sarah Chalke as Elliot, and Judy Reyes as Carla. John C. McGinley also reprises his role as Dr. Cox, with Robert Maschio as Todd.

New cast members include Vanessa Bayer, Joel Kim Booster, Ava Bunn, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, and Amanda Morrow. Here’s the full “Scrubs Reboot” cast.
