The Denver Broncos picked up a huge win on Sunday, defeating the Washington Commanders in overtime to secure the 10th win of the season. Despite a well-rounded roster, the team has signed a former second-round pick wide receiver.

One of the glaring issues the Broncos have had offensively is their lack of having multiple big-name wide receivers. Courtland Sutton leads the way with 711 yards and five touchdowns; next is Troy Franklin with 530 yards and five touchdowns.
While Sutton and Franklin’s stats are nothing to scoff at, they both might not eclipse 1,000 yards. The Broncos need a true WR1 in the building. Or at least, they need another receiver that can aid in the passing game.
That said, the Broncos have decided to bring in Elijah Moore. The former second-round pick receiver will be signed to the team’s practice squad.
Moore has had an up-and-down career thus far since he was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. As a member of the Rebels, he secured 2,441 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Moore would make an impact as a rookie, securing 538 yards and five touchdowns, but he fell out of favor with the Jets. He would ultimately request a trade during the 2022 season.
Moore would then move to the Cleveland Browns, where he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons. There, he had minimal production, bringing in 1,178 yards and three touchdowns.
The Buffalo Bills signed Moore, but he only appeared in nine games and started two. He was waived by the team when they brought in Brandin Cooks.
Denver is doing its due diligence by improving its roster for their eventual playoff push. At 10-2, the team is in a prime position for the postseason. While Moore might not be a Pro Bowl-level receiver yet, he could carve out a sizable role within the Broncos’ offense.
