Dodgers World Series Hero Planning To Retire After 2026 Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with World Series hero Miguel Rojas on Wednesday night. This comes weeks after Rojas homered to tie up Game 7 of the World Series during an eventful ninth inning. Rojas was a huge piece of the puzzle for the Dodgers’ second consecutive World Series title, and the team opted to bring him back because of it.

But it seems like next season will be his final season in MLB.

Dodgers insider Bill Plunkett recently reported that Rojas is planning on retiring following the 2026 season.

Rojas, 36, has spent the last three years with the Dodgers. During that time, he’s helped them to two consecutive World Series titles. He hasn’t been the superstar at the top of the roster, but he’s been a crucial piece of their World Series-winning puzzle.

The 12-year veteran began his career with the Dodgers in 2014 before spending the next eight seasons with the Miami Marlins. During his time with the Marlins, he was worth 11.4 WAR and helped lead the Marlins to a postseason appearance in 2020.

Rojas seemingly has one final season with the Dodgers to cement his big league legacy. There wouldn’t be a better send-off to his MLB career than winning a third consecutive World Series title.
