Mets Lose Free Agent Ty Adcock to Padres

The San Diego Padres bolstered their bullpen Thursday by signing right-hander Ty Adcock to a major-league contract for 2026.

Adcock, 28, had spent the last two seasons with the New York Mets. In 18 major league games with the Mets (2024-25) and Seattle Mariners (2023), he’s 0-0 with a 5.48 ERA.

A former eighth-round pick by the Mariners in the 2018 MLB Draft, Adcock has a 1.04 WHIP, .227 opponents’ batting average, and 19 strikeouts in 23 innings at the major league level.

Although his role is to be determined, Adcock figures to help the Padres, who are expected to lose closer Robert Suarez in free agency this winter.

The Mets outrighted Adcock to Triple-A Syracuse in August, and he elected free agency in October.
