JJ Watt Drops Concerning Update on Steelers’ TJ Watt After Health Scare

With four games left in the regular season, the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6) are fighting for their playoff lives.

They lead the AFC North by one game over the Baltimore Ravens, and with the two teams set to square off in the regular-season finale the first week of January, the Steelers can’t afford to stack any more Ls in the loss column.

Making matters worse is the team’s best player, pass-rusher T.J. Watt, will miss some time after suffering a freak injury in a situation that fans still don’t have all the details on.

Watt was admitted to the hospital on Thursday with a lung injury suffered at the team facility. Other than that, not many details had been released about the incident until Friday when Watt’s brother, J.J. Watt, revealed an update on social media about his brother’s status along with a bit of context.

“Yesterday TJ had successful surgery to stabilize and repair a partially collapsed lung suffered Wednesday after a dry needling treatment session at the facility,” J.J. wrote on X.

“Recovery timeline is still TBD, but all went well and he is being released from the hospital today. He and his family are very appreciative of everyone’s kind words and well wishes.”

Watt won’t play in Monday’s Week 15 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, as confirmed on Friday by head coach Mike Tomlin.
