Acclaimed director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found dead Sunday at their Los Angeles home, according to the Associated Press (AP) and a family statement cited by multiple media outlets.
Detectives with the Robbery Homicide Division are investigating an “apparent homicide” at Reiner’s home, Capt. Mike Bland with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) told AP.
Investigators believe the pair suffered stab wounds and a family member is being questioned by investigators, an unnamed law enforcement official briefed on the investigation told the news agency.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” a family spokesperson said in a statement, cited by media.
