Louisville picked up its second straight victory on Saturday, blasting visiting Memphis 99-73. Ryan Conwell led the attack with 17 points, with Mikel Brown Jr. adding 16 and reserve Adrian Wooley dropping 15. Khani Rooths came off the bench for 10 points and eight rebounds in the blowout.
Tennessee looks to stop a three-game losing streak as it returns to action for the first time since a 75-62 loss to then-No. 14 Illinois at Music City Madness in Nashville on Dec. 6. Ja’Kobi Gillespie was the lone Vol in double figures with 15 points and added five assists as Tennessee shot just 36.9% on the night. Bishop Boswell and Jaylen Carey grabbed seven rebounds each.
The Cardinals are 12-9 all-time against the Volunteers, with Tennessee winning the last two meetings, including a 77-55 blowout victory at Louisville on Nov. 9, 2024. Conwell averages 19.4 points for the Cards, with Brown putting up 16.6 points and 5.1 assists per game, and Sananda Fru providing 10.6 points and 6.2 rebounds a night. Gillespie averages 17.3 points and 5.4 assists for the Vols, with Nate Ament getting 16.3 points and 7.1 boards per game.
