Dodgers Predicted To Sign $427 Million Superstar Despite Potential Issue
The Kyle Tucker sweepstakes is bound to be the highlight of the offseason. Tucker is projected to sign for $427 million, per Jim Bowden of The Athletic, which largely limits his suitors.
As a result, the top three teams in Tucker’s sweepstakes are three of the biggest spenders in baseball: the New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and Los Angeles Dodgers. It seems like Tucker is bound to leave the Chicago Cubs by the time the dust settles.
Paul Connor of SportsGrid predicted Tucker would shock the baseball world and sign a massive contract with the Dodgers this offseason, despite the major roadblock that the Dodgers might not be willing to offer Tucker a deal longer than four or five years.

“Consensus top free agent; elite five-tool player with consistent 4+ WAR seasons when healthy, but recent injuries (hand fracture in 2025) are a concern,” Connor wrote. “Hit .266/.377/.464 with 22 HR and 25 SB despite setbacks.”
The Dodgers reportedly aren’t willing to offer Tucker a long-term deal, and Tucker reportedly isn’t interested in a short-term contract. Something will need to give if these two sides are going to come together.
There’s a chance they could meet in the middle with a six or seven-year deal worth close to $300 million. This kind of contract might include deferrals and opt-outs to enhance it for Tucker.
It seems like the Dodgers could be a long shot for Tucker right now, but they can never be counted out of a free agency sweepstakes.
