Brown Mass Shooting Possibly Linked to MIT Professors Killing
Authorities are investigating a possible connection between last weekend’s mass shooting at Brown University and the killing of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor two days later, three people familiar with the matter told the Associated Press.
The people, who were not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity, said investigators have identified a person of interest and are actively searching for that individual.
The shooting Saturday at Brown killed two students and wounded nine others before the attacker fled. About 50 miles away, MIT professor Nuno F.G. Loureiro was fatally shot at his home Monday and died at a hospital Tuesday.
