Yankees Predicted To Sign Braves Veteran To $4M Deal After Breakout Year
The New York Yankees desperately need to make some moves in the coming months. The American League East has been getting better, but the Yankees haven’t done anything of note.
The Yankees’ bullpen has taken a few hits this winter. They’ve lost Luke Weaver and Devin Williams to the New York Mets in free agency. They need to add some talent to replace these stars before the winter ends.
Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter predicted the Yankees would sign Atlanta Braves pitcher Tyler Kinley to a one-year, $4 million deal in free agency.

“Tyler Kinley might not be a name that jumps off the page to most fans, but he was lights-out after joining the Atlanta Braves in a deadline deal with the Colorado Rockies,” Reuter wrote. “The 34-year-old had a 5.66 ERA in 47.2 innings at the time of the trade, but logged a fantastic 0.72 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and a .126 opponents’ batting average in 25 innings following the deal.
“He led the Rockies with 12 saves in 2024, so he has some late-inning experience, but he would slot in as a middle reliever to help add some needed depth to a Yankees bullpen that lost Luke Weaver, Devin Williams, Mark Leiter Jr. and Ian Hamilton all from the right side.”
Kinley isn’t a household name, but he was excellent after being traded to the Braves last season.
He posted a sub-1.00 ERA in his time with Atlanta, and the Yankees could look to land him on a team-friendly deal this offseason. If they could get that level of production from the veteran, he would be well worth the investment.
The Yankees need to make some big moves, but a small move like this would help push them in the right direction.
