The Golden State Warriors have gotten off to a rough start to the 2025-26 NBA season thus far.
At this point in the season through the first 28 games of the year, Stephen Curry and company have only compiled a 13-15 record. Obviously, that is not where they wanted to be.
Unfortunately, due to the tough start and the clear inconsistency within the team, some changes may be coming. Ahead of the NBA trade deadline, it would not be shocking to see the Warriors be active in discussions.

Curry has a limited amount of time remaining playing in his prime. Jimmy Butler isn’t getting any younger and Draymond Green is in the final stage of his career as well. If Golden State wants to compete, changes might be necessary.
Keeping that in mind, a new report has been shared about a surprising trade option the Warriors are showing interest in.
According to Evan Sidery of Forbes, Golden State has been gauging trade interest in sharpshooting guard Buddy Hield. He also suggested that Hield and Jonathan Kuminga could be packaged together in a deal.
“The Warriors are canvassing the trade market on Buddy Hield,” Sidery wrote on X. “Playing a career-low in minutes, Hield appears on the way out of Golden State by the trade deadline. If Golden State attempts to make a big splash, Hield and Jonathan Kuminga’s salaries combined equal $31.7 million.”
Not long ago, Hield was a key part of the Warriors’ rotation. So far this season, he has only averaged 18.4 minutes per game.
In the 28 games he has played, which include three starts, Hield has averaged 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. He has shot 41.3 percent from the floor and just 32 percent from three-point distance.

There are plenty of teams around the NBA who could use better perimeter shooting. Hield has shot a career 39.5 percent from the three-point line. Assuming Golden State is serious about moving him, the front office should receive quite a bit of interest.
Hield has played for five teams throughout his 742-game NBA career. It seems likely that he’ll be joining a sixth before the trade deadline passes barring a change of plans for the Warriors.
