Travis Kelce’s Retirement Odds Rise Before Possible Final Chiefs Home Game
The Kansas City Chiefs announced this week that they would be moving from their legendary home, Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri, to a brand-new domed stadium in the state of Kansas come 2031.
That might not only be the final goodbye, including Arrowhead this weekend, as Travis Kelce will run out of the tunnel for the Chiefs, possibly for the last time on Christmas against the Denver Broncos in front of his home fans.
Talk of retirement has run rampant around Kelce since the end of last year’s Super Bowl loss, but he came into this season with a renewed sense of redemption following the loss to the Eagles. 2025 has been a rough one for the future Hall of Famer, however, as he’s openly talked about not seeing a solution to his or the Chiefs’ problems.
On prediction site Polymarket, his odds for retiring have skyrocketed over the past few days before his possible Christmas swan song, with it now sitting at 67% that he will hang up the cleats at the end of the season.

Kelce, who has become synonymous with Kansas City over his decade-plus career with the Chiefs, owns a home there and was just named to his 11th Pro Bowl, the second-most of any tight end in NFL history.
Although the team results haven’t been there, Kelce has maintained strong consistency in his play, ranking seventh in receptions and third in receiving yards among his position.
Matters only got worse two weeks ago when the team was officially eliminated from the postseason, and his close friend and quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, tore his ACL, ruling him out for the rest of 2025 and possibly into the 2026 season.
Kelce is set to wed worldwide phenomenon pop star Taylor Swift this summer, which has added fuel to the idea that the tight end and popular podcaster might be looking to transition into the next stage of his life and career.
