Max Plante, Chase Reid, Will Horcoff and Cole Eiserman also scored while Cole Hutson and Anthony Spellacy logged two assists each.

Switzerland comes off an eighth-place finish at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa last year, with its best finish coming in 1998, when the Swiss won the bronze medal. Switzerland’s roster includes five NHL draft picks, including goalies Elijah Neuenschwander (Anaheim Ducks) and Christian Kirsch (San Jose Sharks) along with defensemen Basile Sansonnens (Vancouver Canucks), Ludvig Johnson (Utah Mammoth) and Leon Muggli (Washington Capitals). Muggli is already playing with the Hershey Bears, Washington’s top affiliate in the American Hockey League.

The Americans are attempting to become the first nation to win three straight World Junior gold medals since Canada won five in a row from 2005-09.
