Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers came up short once again on Saturday night, falling victim to the Baltimore Ravens and superstar running back Derrick Henry by a final score of 41-24.
From the very start of the game, it was clear that the Ravens were looking to bully the Packers. That is exactly what they did from start to finish.
Henry put together a monstrous performance against an injured Green Bay defense. He carried the football 36 times for 216 yards and four touchdowns, averaging six yards per carry. Tyler Huntley, who was filling in at quarterback for the injured Lamar Jackson, didn’t have to do much due to Henry’s dominance.

While the Packers saw Malik Wills complete 18 of his 21 passes for 288 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions, while also running for 60 yards and two scores, that wasn’t enough. Green Bay only recorded 19 rushing yards on seven attempts outside of Willis’ production.
Following the loss, the Packers are now 9-6-1. The season has started falling apart at the end due to poor play and injuries. Green Bay will play the final game of the regular season on the road against the Minnesota Vikings next week.
Throughout the course of the season, the future of LaFleur has been called into question. Many fans would like to see the Packers make a change at head coach.
After losing to Baltimore, one Green Bay insider provided a troubling outlook for LaFleur.
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic shared his opinion on the matter on X. He doesn’t think LaFleur’s future with the Packers is a lock and could see Green Bay going in a different direction.
“Won’t harp on LaFleur’s future too much until the season is over, but I do think Ed Policy will have a tough decision to make if the Packers lose in the first round,” Schneidman wrote. “Handful of factors to consider both for and against the head coach.”
LaFleur has had a lot of regular season success since becoming the head coach of the Packers back in He has compiled a 76-39-1 regular season record in that time period.

Unfortunately, his playoff success has been minimal. He has not even made a trip to the Super Bowl with Green Bay. That has led to frustration within the fan base.
It’s quite possible that the Packers will go ahead and extend LaFleur following the 2025 season. However, that does not appear to be a clear-cut result. His future is still very much in doubt in Green Bay.
