Arch Manning Reacts to Texas Teammate Entering Transfer Portal

The Texas Longhorns closed their season on a high note Wednesday evening, defeating the Michigan Wolverines 41-27 in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl behind a standout performance from quarterback Arch Manning.

Manning came on strong during the second half of the season and arguably played the best game of his college career against a stout Michigan defense.

He completed 21-of-34 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns without committing a turnover, while also rushing nine times for a remarkable 155 yards and two rushing scores, averaging 17.2 yards per carry.

With Manning already making it known that he’ll return to Austin next season, he’s set to lose one of his closest teammates and more reliable targets in freshman wide receiver Parker Livingstone, who is entering the NCAA transfer portal when it opens on Friday.

Manning reacted to the news with a subtle yet telling message, posting a photo of the two together on his Instagram story along with a teary-eyed emoji.

Livingstone put together a solid freshman campaign for the Longhorns, and his chemistry with Manning was evident throughout the season. He caught three passes for 25 yards in Wednesday’s win over Michigan, and finished the year with 29 receptions for 516 yards and six touchdowns.

He ranked third on the team in receiving yards and second in touchdown catches. With several years of eligibility remaining, Livingstone is likely to be a highly sought-after option in the transfer portal. Meanwhile, Texas is rumored to have its sights set on another portal wide receiver in Cam Coleman, who is departing Auburn.
