John Harbaugh Faces Surprising New Report After Ravens Firing
The Baltimore Ravens made the incredibly difficult decision to fire longtime head coach John Harbaugh after missing the playoffs due to the missed field goal by rookie kicker Tyler Loop against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Harbaugh has been the head coach of the Ravens since the 2008 season. Replacing him will be no easy task.
With that being said, plenty of interest has come in from teams with open head coaching vacancies. A surprising report has also shared that a few teams who currently have a head coach in place are also registering interest in Harbaugh.

That report was shared by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. It shows just how respected Harbaugh is across the NFL.

In a report shared on X, Russini shared the latest update on Harbaugh’s market. He will have no shortage of options to choose from.
“John Harbaugh has interest from most teams with head coaching vacancies, but notably, I’m told calls are also coming in from a few teams that currently have a head coach in place,” Russini wrote. “Lots of discussions going down tonight. Harbaugh will be at the top of many teams’ wishlists.”
Throughout his tenure as the Baltimore head coach, Harbaugh found a lot of success. He has a career record of 180-113 and also led the Ravens to a Super Bowl win back in the 2012 season. Out of his 18-year NFL coaching career, Harbaugh has only missed the playoffs six times.
Heading into the 2025 NFL season, Baltimore was widely expected to be a top-tier Super Bowl contender. Obviously, those expectations did not materialize on the field this year.

Now, Harbaugh will be looking for a new job elsewhere. As for the Ravens, they will be entering a completely new era of football in 2026 under new leadership. This is a move that could backfire for Baltimore or might be what the franchise needs to take the next step.
Only time will tell, but the Ravens deciding to fire Harbaugh has reshaped the landscape of the AFC. It will be very interesting to see who the franchise decides to bring in to replace the legendary head coach.
