Bears Fans Furious After DJ Moore Fails on Game-Losing Play vs Rams
What just happened?
In what was about to go down as one of the greatest comeback endings in not only NFL history but sports history, it got flipped on its head as the Chicago Bears fans had to watch Los Angeles Rams kicker Harrison Mevis boot the game-winning field goal in overtime.
Minutes prior, the Bears fans were on cloud nine. Sophomore quarterback Caleb Williams was going down in Chicago sports legend after his last-second scramble, leading to a heroic heave on fourth down to score the game-tying touchdown to tight end Cole Kmet.
The Bears then stopped the Rams on three straight running plays and got the ball back, with Williams dissecting the L.A. defense down the field. Then, at midfield, and no pressure, Williams threw a ball that, if caught, would have set the Bears up for their own game-winning kick.
Instead, Kam Curl intercepted the pass, and Williams watched in horror as the magic had run out.

But was it Williams’ fault?
Replays showed that wideout DJ Moore was jogging toward where Williams threw the ball, but he let up and didn’t finish his route that could have clinched the game for the Bears.
If he had run at full speed or dove for the ball, it would have been at worst an incomplete pass.
Chicago fans were furious following the game and the different angles of the Williams interception, showing Moore’s seemingly lackluster effort on the play.
While Moore deals with the aftermath and the media’s questions about the now-infamous play, the Los Angeles team will prepare to travel back to sunny Southern California.
The Rams will spend a few days back home before going up north to face NFC West divisional rival, the Seattle Seahawks, for a ticket to the Super Bowl.
