Seahawks Eye ‘Possible Addition’ After Zach Charbonnet Injury
The Seattle Seahawks found themselves in a tough spot, despite blowing out the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL’s Divisional Round last Saturday.
Seattle lost its primary backup running back, Zach Charbonnet, to a devastating torn ACL injury. As expected, Charbonnet’s postseason comes to a close just a few weeks away from the Super Bowl.
With the Seahawks still in the dance, they need to potentially add some depth ahead of Sunday’s NFC Championship bout against the Los Angeles Rams. On Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Seahawks designated George Holani for a return to practice this week.

Per Schefter, that could be a “possible addition” for the Seahawks after their tough blow.
Holani, a 26-year-old back, entered the NFL out of Boise State in 2024. He was an undrafted prospect, beginning his professional career with the Seahawks. During his rookie season, he made just five appearances in the backfield. He took on three carries for 10 yards.

Before going out with an injury this year, Holani appeared in 11 games. While he wasn’t a featured back, he took on more rushes with 22 attempts for 73 yards and one touchdown. He suffered a hamstring injury in Week 12, which landed him on the IR list.
While Walker is set to play, Charbonnet’s loss could still very much be felt. In 16 games this season, he rushed for 184 carries, totaling 730 yards. He scored 12 touchdowns.

With Charbonnet out, the Seahawks could use a committee, but the expectation is that Kenneth Walker III will lead the way for the backfield. Walker has played in 58 games for the Seahawks this season, taking on 221 carries for 1,027 yards. He scored five touchdowns.
This season marks Walker’s second postseason experience. Back in 2022, he appeared in one game, which included 15 attempts. He totaled 63 yards and reached the endzone once. In one game this year, Walker took on 19 attempts. He collected 116 yards (6.1 YPC), and reached the endzone three times.
