Stephen Curry Passes Celtics Legend on NBA All-Time Scoring List
On Sunday, the Golden State Warriors picked up a 111-85 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry accomplished a historic milestone during the game.
With a total of 26,396 points throughout his 17-year career, Curry moved up to the 20th spot on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He surpassed Basketball Hall of Famer John Havlicek, who is best known for winning eight NBA championships as a member of the Boston Celtics.
As a 12-time All-Star and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, Curry has broken numerous records over the years. He is both the NBA’s all-time three-point leader and the Warriors’ all-time points leader.

How High Can Stephen Curry Climb?
With a 26-21 record, Golden State holds the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings. Curry is leading the Warriors in scoring this season, with an average of 27.4 points per game.
Teammate Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending injury earlier this month, placing added pressure on Curry to continue leading Golden State’s offense. Also, reported conflicts between Jonathan Kuminga and head coach Steve Kerr suggest that the franchise may explore trades prior to February’s deadline.
LeBron James is the NBA’s current all-time points leader, with a total of 42,786 points. While it is unlikely that Curry will catch James, the 37-year-old guard is expected to surpass several legendary names on the list.
If Curry were to score his season average in each of Golden State’s remaining games, he would accumulate approximately 950 points by mid-April. This figure would boost him into the 12th spot on the list, above Houston Rockets great Elvin Hayes.
Looking towards the future, Curry’s current contract expires at the end of the 2026-2027 season. It is too early to speculate whether the four-time NBA champion will continue his career beyond 2027, but he has solidified his legacy as one of the greatest players of all-time.
