Longtime WWE Director Expected to Miss Royal Rumble 2026 in Riyadh
A significant behind-the-scenes worker for WWE reportedly isn’t expected to attend “Royal Rumble 2026.” PWInsider reports that the word backstage during “Raw” was that Marty Miller won’t be traveling to Riyadh for one of WWE’s biggest annual shows. Instead, Miller will reportedly be working on a Zuffa Boxing event, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday in Las Vegas.
The report mentions that Lee Lipschulz, the current “Friday Night SmackDown” director, will likely be filling in for Miller at this year’s “Royal Rumble” event. Lipschulz directs WWE’s kickoff and post-show live streams.

Marty Miller’s History in WWE
Miller has a member of the WWE team since 1995. His first night on the job was during the “King of the Ring” pay-per-view in Philadelphia. That event saw Mabel defeat Savio Vega in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. This began the “King Mabel” era in WWE. The show also featured a tag team match that saw Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow defeat Tatanka and Sycho Sid.
In the past, Miller has been interviewed by WWE.com. The director heaped praise on the cameramen that help make WWE’s production run smoothly, which isn’t easy during professional wrestling shows. Miller also said that directing events can be “chaotic,” but it’s “part of the thrill of the job.”
