Jacob Wilson Gets Massive $70 Million Contract Extension: Report
Jacob Wilson, the sixth overall pick of the 2023 MLB Draft who made the American League All-Star team in his first full season with the A’s last year, will be staying with the franchise that drafted him for a while.
According to multiple reports Friday, Wilson and the A’s have reached agreement on a seven-year, $70 million contract extension. Jeff Passan of ESPN was first to report the news on Twitter/X.
Wilson, 23, was the runner-up for the AL Rookie of the Year Award after slashing .311/.355/.444 in 125 games in 2025.

Wilson finished second in Rookie of the Year voting to teammate Nick Kurtz, who is under team control for five more seasons. Along with outfielders Brent Rooker, Tyler Soderstrom and Lawrence Butler — all of whom previously extended their contracts with the A’s — Wilson’s extension gives the team a nucleus of young players as it transitions from California to Las Vegas.
