The Thunder, still without injured starters Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (abdominal strain) and Jalen Williams (hamstring), got a season-high 21 points from new acquisition Jared McCain while turning back the visiting Brooklyn Nets 105-86 on Friday night. Chet Holmgren tossed in 15 points, and Isaiah Hartenstein notched 10 points and eight rebounds. Cason Wallace contributed six assists and four steals as well.
Oklahoma City won the first meeting between the teams in Cleveland on Jan. 19, rolling to a 136-104 victory. Mitchell averages 28.8 points for the Cavs, with Harden posting 18.4 points and 8.6 assists per game in five games since coming over from the LA Clippers. Allen gets 14.9 points and 8.4 rebounds a night. Holmgren is the Thunder’s top available scorer, averaging 17.4 points, with Ajay Mitchell scoring 14.1 points per game and Hartenstein putting up 10.6 points and 9.6 boards per outing.
