Fresh details are emerging about “The White Lotus” season 4, including the latest cast announcements and the evocative new setting.
The third season of HBO’s Emmy-winning drama, which premiered Feb. 16, 2025, was the most-watched yet, earning 23 Emmy Awards nominations, so anticipation is at an all-time high for the follow-up.
The fourth season, once again written and directed by creator Mike White, bucks the usually tropical trend of bedding down near a beach.
According to reports, season will head to France for the first time. The location: Château de la Messardière, says Deadline.
It’s a return to to Europe after the second season’s Italian setting. The first three seasons of the HBO drama were set in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand respectively.
As for the cast, Ari Graynor (‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’) and Dylan Ennis are the latest additions, joining an already quality talent list that includes Oscar-nominee Helena Bonham Carter.

There is no release date for “The White Lotus” Season 4. The cast has not yet been finalised, and shooting is still months away. The earliest date to expect the series is mid-2027.

“The White Lotus” season 4 is set in the real-life five-star luxury hotel Château de La Messardière, which is located in Saint-Tropez, France.
Named one of Vogue’s best hotels in the South of France, it’s a 19th-century castle based in the French Riviera.

The rest of the cast includes Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Alexander Ludwig, and AJ Michalka, with casting ongoing.

“The White Lotus” Season 4 Story
There is no official synopsis for ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4. However, it will adhere to a similar template to previous seasons, which follow the misadventures of both White Lotus guests and employees
Tonally, it’ll be a departure. “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular,” White told Deadline in September 2025.
The music will be different, too, with the show’s composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer stating he won’t be coming back after a feud with White.
“We already had our last fight ever, I think,” he said to the New York Times last year. “He was just saying no to anything.”
White replied in an interview with Howard Stern, saying, “We never really even fought. He says we feuded. I don’t think I ever had a fight with him – except for maybe some emails. It was basically me giving him notes. I don’t think he liked to go through the process of getting notes from me, or wanting revisions, because he didn’t respect me.”
