107. Resident Evil Requiem (first PSSR 2.0 title)
Sony and press outlets framed the tag as a consumer‑friendly shorthand, but “PS5 Pro Enhanced” can mean different things from game to game. Digital Foundry’s early analysis showed some titles lean on AI‑assisted scaling to push up to 120fps with ray tracing, while others prioritize resolution stability or texture clarity. Results depend on the engine, RT budget, and how much the studio feeds the upscaling software.
Why the PSSR List Will Keep Changing
Sony confirmed that an upgraded PSSR — co‑developed with AMD via Project Amethyst and aligned with FSR 4 era techniques — began rolling out with Resident Evil Requiem. A March system update will add an “Enhance PSSR Image Quality” option so existing PSSR games can opt into the new model at the OS level. Expect more “Enhanced” titles to look crisper without much fanfare once that firmware update lands.
For players, the takeaway is simple: the tag is a starting point. The best upgrades right now pair 60fps with meaningful RT and clean reconstruction; the weakest barely move the needle. As patches arrive — and as the system‑level PSSR switch goes live — the gap should narrow.
