Passenger Set to Board Amid Travel Chaos, Stunned by Plane She’s Flying In

A JetBlue aircraft painted in Boston Bruins colors—known as “Bear Force One”—has been spotted at San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, according to images shared on social media.

Photos posted online show the black-and-gold Airbus A320, featuring the Bruins’ Spoked‑B logo on the tail, parked on the Tarmac at the Puerto Rican airport.

Flight tracking data confirmed that JetBlue flight B6904, is scheduled to fly from San Juan to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport today.

The aircraft, registered as N632JB, it is part of JetBlue’s special sports‑themed livery program and is not new to aviation watchers or Bruins fans.

Newsweek reached out to JetBlue via email for comment.

What To Know

“Bear Force One” was unveiled by JetBlue in May 2019 as the airline’s first aircraft dedicated to a National Hockey League team, according to a report published by BostonBruins.com at the time.

The Bruins‑themed plane was introduced at Boston’s Logan International Airport, with team president Cam Neely describing the project as a collaboration between the Bruins’ marketing department and JetBlue, which has served as the team’s official airline partner since 2013.

The San Juan sighting was highlighted by a Threads user who described being stranded amid flight disruptions tied to the LaGuardia shutdown following a crash at the airport. The passenger was shocked to have been given the Bear Force One plane, not least because she is a fan of a rival team.

In the post, user @chutrash wrote: “Are you kidding me!! We wait in TSA line four hours, miss our plane by minutes, they can’t get us out of Puerto Rico until Tuesday so we book with another airline to fly to NYC then there is a plane crash! Our plane shows up and this is what we have!! I just don’t know if I can get on a plane with this plastered all over it!! I have my Sabres pride!!! UGH!!”

The post included two photos taken from inside the airport terminal, showing the Bruins‑themed JetBlue aircraft at the gate.

The LaGuardia collision occurred late Sunday night when an Air Canada Express flight operated by Jazz Aviation struck a Port Authority fire vehicle on the runway. Two people died.

Federal Aviation Administration notices indicated that LaGuardia Airport could remain closed into Monday afternoon as investigators conducted a runway and operations review. New York emergency officials warned travelers to expect cancellations, traffic delays, and emergency activity near the airport.

What Happens Next

There has been no public comment on the unexpected flight livery appearing at the airport today, but JetBlue’s sports‑themed aircraft continue to operate on standard commercial routes and are deployed as part of the airline’s regular fleet scheduling.
