Hubert Davis’ Son Posts Cryptic Message After Removing UNC on Social Media
The future of North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis remains very much up in the air following the team’s humiliating first round NCAA Tournament loss to VCU in which the Tar Heels held a 19-point lead before losing 82-78 in overtime.
Following the loss, UNC chancellor Lee Roberts revealed, “No change has been made,” before adding, “At the end of every season, we look at everything.” Outgoing UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham parroted the same vernacular doled out by the university’s chancellor when discussing Davis’ future.
Cunningham said “that he and the Tar Heels’ administration including the Chancellor are evaluating all aspects of the school’s basketball program and will continue to have discussions over the coming days.”

As Davis’ future remains in question, his son, Elijah, a senior guard on the team, made a move on social media that left many wondering. Davis appears to have scrubbed all mention of North Carolina from his Instagram page.
He then shared the following passage on his Instagram story: “God will literally sit you down and break you to humble you then isolate you to build you. Then give you back everything 10x to prove to you He is real and everything happen for a reason.”
He highlighted the phrase “Then give you back everything.”
It’s impossible to tell his intention behind the post, but it’s not easy to draw parallels between the message and his father’s potential exit from the program after five seasons.
