Cody Rhodes Names WWE’s Next Breakout Star
Cody Rhodes used a New York City media tour stop to highlight a name that may surprise some fans when asked who WWE’s next big star will be.
Speaking with Adam Glyn, Rhodes ran through several names with obvious cases before landing on one that stood out for a different reason. Kit Wilson, currently riding a wave of solo momentum with Pretty Deadly partner Elton Prince sidelined due to a neck injury, caught Rhodes’ attention not just for his ability but for the hunger he carries with him.
“I think this one’s fairly obvious, I’ve talked about Trick there and Je’Von is on his way,” Rhodes said. “Bron Breakker’s on his way. Oba, Oba is definitely — that’s a safe bet. And then I’ll say somebody who you can tell wants it, and ‘wants it’ really matters to me, and I think might make it: Kit Wilson.”
Wilson has been making the most of his singles exposure in recent weeks, gaining a strong fan reaction with the help of his viral theme music. He is coming off a loss to Jelly Roll on SmackDown last week, a program that has nonetheless kept him in a visible position on the card.

Rhodes also delivered a surprising answer when asked about the strongest wrestler he has ever faced. While acknowledging the obvious names, he pointed to Logan Paul as one of the most physically impressive opponents he has shared the ring with on a pound-for-pound basis.
“Seth is incredibly strong, pound-for-pound. Bron Breakker is incredibly strong,” Rhodes said. “And, man, I’ll give you an answer — very strong, I mean, athlete to athlete, a stud, a thoroughbred, I hate saying this, it’s Logan Paul. He’s an athlete, yeah.”
Rhodes is now deep into his preparations for what is expected to be the Night One main event of WrestleMania 42. He defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton on Saturday, April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, a match that has been building since Orton’s shocking heel turn at the contract signing on SmackDown.
