Shohei Ohtani Goes Viral for What He Did for a Fan in the Rain
When people talk about Shohei Ohtani being built differently than any other player in baseball, they mean it in a lot of different ways.
On Sunday, the four-time MLB MVP showed why not only is he one of the most competitive to ever play the game, but also one of the most thoughtful.
The Dodgers were supposed to play the Nationals in the afternoon in Washington to end their three-game series, but a torrent of rain pushed the game back several hours from when the first pitch was supposed to take place.
While players from the Dodgers and Nationals sought shelter inside their respective clubhouses to wait out the rain, Ohtani decided that it was the perfect time to get some work in, as he sprinted out into the downpour to work on his throws while the stadium was empty aside from a few onlookers.

When Ohtani was finished working out, though, he caught the eye of one of the only other people not seeking shelter from the rain: a young Dodgers fan waiting to see if he could get a picture with Ohtani.
Ohtani not only walked over and spent a few seconds with the fan, taking a photo, but also handed the boy a ball before jogging into the clubhouse to get ready for the game.
The video has already been shared over a thousand times online, with fans praising Ohtani for taking time out of a busy day in the rain to give a fan a special moment that he’ll never forget.
