Bulls Round Out 15-Man Roster Amid Playoff Elimination

The Chicago Bulls were officially eliminated from the playoffs in March following a 131-113 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, so it’s game over for the team this season.

But the Bulls are still playing games during the NBA regular season, and they’ve just filled out their 15-man roster.

On Thursday, April 9, the team announced that they’re elevating Windy City Bulls G League player Mouhamadou Gueye to a standard contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. Adding Gueye fills out the team’s standard roster signings at 15.

In 34 G League 2025-26 regular season games with the Windy City Bulls, Gueye was averaging 15.9 points on .499/.325/.697 shooting splits, 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.8 steals a game. Coming out of the University of Pittsburgh in 2022, Gueye joined the Dallas Mavericks’ NBAGL affiliate, the Texas Legends, and he’s been a staple of the G League for his young career. He also played for the Toronto Raptors for 11 games.

Head coach Billy Donovan of the Chicago Bulls.

On Thursday, April 8, Chicago Bulls president Michael Reinsdorf talked about what he wants from the team’s new top basketball chief executive, who will replace Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley.

“I want someone who is process-oriented. I think the biggest mistakes we have made over the years is we have not followed a process,” he said on a video conference with media, according to the NBA’s official website. “Conviction. We need someone who is not afraid to pull the trigger.”

He also made it clear that he wants Billy Donovan to remain head coach of the team, stating, “Billy is a Hall of Fame coach who not only has my respect, but the respect of the entire organization and locker room.”

He added, “While we will handle any conversations about the coaching staff the same way we always do at the end of the season, I wanted to be very clear: We want Billy to continue to be the coach of the Chicago Bulls.”

So, it doesn’t get more crystal clear than that. While the Bulls will see changes going into next season, the head coach won’t be one of them.
