The Aces led by as much as 22 in Game 2 on Sunday before cruising to a 91-78 victory to take Game 2. Jackie Young poured in 32 points while four-time WNBA MVP A’Ja Wilson went for 28 points and 14 rebounds in the win. Chelsea Gray added 10 points, 10 assists, three steals, and three blocks.
Las Vegas looks to reclaim the WNBA title after winning back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023.
The Mercury couldn’t get Alyssa Thomas established in Game 3 as the MVP finalist was limited to 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Kahleah Copper paced Phoenix with 23 points in the loss, while Satou Sabally tossed in 22 points but was 7-of-19 from the floor as the Mercury shot just 40.8% overall and made only 5-of-28 from 3-point range.
Phoenix last played in the WNBA Finals in 2021, and its most recent championship came in 2014.
