Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami Finalists for One of Nation’s Top LBs
The Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, and Miami Hurricanes are all set to do battle in the College Football Playoff that kicks off this weekend, but the quartet of university powerhouses is also clashing for one of the nation’s top linebacker recruits.
Quinton Cypher, the ninth-ranked LB in the country, has narrowed his long list of interested schools to only four as he prepares to make his decision sometime this week, he announced on his personal social media page.
Cypher, a 6-foot-2, tough defender out of Raleigh, North Carolina, has the hair of Clay Matthews and might have the skill too, as schools from around the country, including Clemson and Florida State, also showed interest before he narrowed down the field.

All four teams have their own pros and cons for Cypher, depending on how he envisions his future, with each having a pedigree for setting up young players for their best chance at making the NFL once they’re done playing for the school.
It’s not just the schools trying to lure Cypher to their campus; the fans are, too, as all four schools’ fanbases have already started the campaign trail on social media to attract the Raleigh star linebacker.
