Alec Baldwin Confronts Trump Impersonator Outside Home
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Alec Baldwin has never been shy about his distaste for Donald Trump, who he famously played on Saturday Night Live during the 2016 presidential campaign. But he was even more irritated when a man dressed like the president, right-wing comedian Jason Scoop, confronted him outside of his New York City home.
The actor, 66, was getting his bags out of a black town car and tipping the driver as the 31-year-old comedian approached him, dressed in a wig and a suit to resemble the 78-year-old president. The comedian called himself Alec Baldwin’s “favorite president” and offered him a “full pardon for murdering that woman” if Baldwin “kissed the ring.”

The comedian was referring to the accident on the set of the film Rust, during which a prop gun that Baldwin was holding went off and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin was never charged with murder in this case, and a motion to charge him with involuntary manslaughter was dismissed by the New Mexico state court in October 2024.
As Scoop continued to claim that Baldwin had murdered Hutchins, the actor did his best to ignore the taunting, but eventually he confronted the comedian. “Now let me ask you a question,” he said, noting that the comedian had a camera on him. “Do you realize my kids live in this building?” he asked. (The Beetlejuice star is a father of eight, sharing seven children with wife Hilaria Baldwin and adult daughter Ireland, his eldest child, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.
While the comedian responded, “We love the children,” Alec directly addressed Scoop’s antics — and he did not hold back.
“If this camera wasn’t here, I’d snap your f***ing neck in half and break your f***ing neck,” said the actor. “You realize that, don’t you?” The actor then headed towards his apartment building, but as the comedian continued yelling his name, Baldwin approached him again. “I want you to get out of here,” he said. He became more frustrated as the Trump impersonator continued to mock him, before finally saying, “I’ll take that camera and shove it up your a**,” and walking away.
Baldwin revealed on his new TLC show, The Baldwins, that he was diagnosed with PTSD after the events of the Rust shooting.
