Alex Bregman Details Conversations With Rafael Devers Amid Controversy
There’s a lot of noise surrounding Alex Bregman and Rafael Devers.
On Monday, Devers generated all the wrong headlines when he said he’d refuse to move off third base to accommodate Bregman, who can play both second and third. Triston Casas added fuel to the fire when he took it upon himself to say how the Boston Red Sox should construct their roster for opening day.
So, are things now awkward between Bregman and Devers? While speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Bregman shared insight into his initial interactions with Boston’s franchise third baseman.
“They’ve been great. We’ve been having a lot of fun,” Bregman told reporters, via MLB.com. “We’ve been taking ground balls back here, during our work together. Talking about winning. Talking about baseball. Talking about being excited for the season. Last night we all got together and had dinner. It’s great.”

Speaking of infield talent, Boston reportedly has its sights set on adding one of baseball’s best players next offseason.
