Amtrak Train Strikes and Kills 1 in Pennsylvania
Amtrak suspended service out of Penn Station in New York and the main rail station in Philadelphia after one of its trains struck and killed a person in Bristol, Pa., on Thursday.
The person was hit near Bristol Station, SEPTA, the public transit authority in Southeastern Pennsylvania, said on social media, without providing further details.
All rail traffic out of New York Penn Station and Philadelphia’s main Amtrak station was temporarily suspended because the local authorities had placed a hold on tracks, Amtrak said on social media.
