Angel Cabrera earned his first PGA Tour Champions event win since spending more than two years in prison. He posted an 11-under total score at the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational to take the victory by two shots.
Cabrera signed for a 1-under 71 Sunday after he went 68-66 on the first two days.
He held off the likes of K.J. Choi, who shot a 3-under 69 as he finished solo second at 9-under. Retief Goosen shot a 68 to get to solo third at 8-under.
Five men held a share of the lead ahead of the final round, but Cabrera emerged on top.
The Argentina native made three birdies and two bogeys Sunday en route to his first victory on the PGA Tour of Champions. It was his third start of the year after he finished T19 in February at the Trophy Hassan II and T51 at the Chubb Classic.

Cabrera showed off his clutch gene, birdieing the par-4 17th to take a one-shot lead into the final hole. Choi made a bogey on the 18th to give the 55-year-old the two-shot victory.
Cabrera spent 30 months in prison after being convicted of domestic assault and threatening two of his former partners. He was released him on August 4, 2023.
Last year, the 2009 Masters champion did not play at Augusta National because of VISA complications.
However, Cabrera will be in the field for the 2025 Masters Tournament, and his game seems to be in good form.
His first win on the Champions Tour came at an excellent time for Cabrera’s confidence as he will play alongside the best players in the world.
