Angel Yin ‘Dreaming’ After Next Win at Honda LPGA Thailand

Angel Yin already knows what it’s like to win on the LPGA Tour, so she appreciated the position she found herself in after the third round of the Honda LPGA Thailand. With just 18 holes to play, the American was four shots clear of second place on the leaderboard.
Yin carded a third round 64 with eight birdies and no bogeys to match her score from the previous day. It is a performance to dream big about, and that is where the 26-year-old finds herself.
“I’m a dreamer,” Yin said after the third round.
Despite the sizable lead entering the final round, Yin knew the tournament was far from over.
“I knew I wasn’t super comfortable,” Yin said. “It’s not a tournament or golf course where five shots is a lot. Considering that Akie shot Thursday 10-under, I knew she was able and capable of shooting a low score.”

Indeed, Akie Iwie made a run at her during Sunday’s final round. But she ultimately came up short as Yin finished at 28-under, winning by a single stroke.
“It’s such an honor. I’m super grateful that I was able to come and win here. Thailand, the fans are incredible and the golf course is incredible, and I think the whole week and experience is a ten out of ten.”
This was Angel Yin’s second career LPGA Tour victory.
Her first title came at the 2023 Buick LPGA Shanghai, a victory that put her on the Solheim Cup team that tied with Europe at Finca Cortesin, Spain, that same year.

The 2024 season was a difficult one for her as she was recovering from a hand injury. She missed five cuts in the first 10 tournaments of the season and also withdrew from the Chevron Championship.
However, she rebounded remarkably in the second half of the year with six top 10s and only one missed cut in her final 10 starts. Two runner-up finishes stand out, including at the very strong CME Group Tour Championship.
Yin is currently ranked 16th in the Race to CME Globe, which ranks the top players of the season. The 2025 rankings are topped by Yealimi Noh after her victory at the Founders Cup two weeks ago.
