Zendaya knew the question was coming.
Rumors have been flying that Zendaya and Tom Holland quietly got married after Law Roach, Zendaya’s stylist, told Entertainment Tonight, “The wedding already happened. Y’all missed it!” It appeared that Roach was joking, but it was enough.
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, her The Drama co-star, appeared together on The New York TImes‘ “Modern Love” podcast. With five minutes remaining in the episode, host Anna Martin asked Zendaya if she had any martial news she’d like to share.
“I just feel like, for me, there is a level of parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand,” the Emmy-winning actress said. “I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people, and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don’t want to dismiss that, like, ‘Stay out of my business’ or whatever.”
Zendaya continued:
“In a lot of ways, I also am a very private person. I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well. We do our best, in general, to not hide ourselves from the world, but just to, I think, preserve things for ourselves, so that we can maintain that joy just within ourselves and our loved ones and our families. That’s my broad way of just saying I hear it, but I also like my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I’m also willing to share.”
In January 2025, TMZ reported that Holland had proposed to Zendaya “between Christmas and New Year’s, dropping to one knee in a very intimate setting in one of Zendaya’s family homes in the United States.” People confirmed the engagement, citing a family source.
Zendaya and Holland met at an audition for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was released in 2017.
Holland has starred as Spider-Man and Zendaya as MJ in the Marvel Studios Spider-Man films. Far From Home hit theatres in 2019, and No Way Home was released in 2021. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected on July 31, 2026.
