Baltimore Ravens Give Update on Lamar Jackson After Injury in Patriots Loss
The Baltimore Ravens thought that “Sunday Night Football” against the New England Patriots was going to be the start of their improbable run back to the playoffs after starting the season in shambles.
Lamar Jackson started hot early, Derrick Henry was running over Patriot defenders like they were traffic cones, and they put up a quick touchdown at home as the fans went wild.
The optimism all came crashing down near the end of the first half, when Lamar Jackson got a knee in the back and quickly ran into the locker room before half. While he was questionable to return, he never saw the field again, watching from the sidelines as the Ravens and backup Tyler “Snoop” Huntley did their best to hold on.

While they did their best, a double-digit lead faded in the fourth, and Henry was inexplicably benched with the lead, as Drake Maye led the Patriots to a comeback one week after the Buffalo Bills did the same to him.
After a Zay Flowers fumble that stopped any sort of their own claw back, the Ravens’ season, for all intents and purposes, came to an end with Jackson on the sideline and needing a historic collapse from the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Browns to have a shot at the AFC North crown in Week 18.
Head coach John Harbaugh gave an update on Jackson’s condition after the game.
“It’s a bruise of some kind,” he said. “I don’t know how serious it’ll be; we’ll have to find out in the next couple of days. He got kneed in the back on the ground.”
The Ravens will attempt to keep their season alive next week as they travel to Green Bay to play the Packers. A loss to the Packers or if the Steelers beat the Browns will officially eliminate the Ravens from the postseason.
