Bears’ Caleb Williams to Compete in NBA All-Star Weekend Event

The Chicago Bears drafted a gifted athlete in Caleb Williams, and he’s already shown his vast array of skills on the football field, including the ability to elude pesky defenders and make miracle throws in high-stakes situations.

That impressive talent was on full display throughout the past NFL season, with Williams guiding the Bears to improbable comeback wins and first place in the NFC North. Chicago also claimed the No. 2 seed in the NFC Playoffs and nearly advanced to the Championship Game, but fell short.

Three weeks after Williams and the Bears nearly achieved another major comeback against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round, he’ll be making an appearance in another sports event: NBA All-Star Weekend.

On Wednesday, Ari Meirov reported that Williams will show off his three-point shooting, as he’s among the participants in the NBA Celebrity 3-Point Contest.

Other celebs participating in this event include comedian Druski, Jake from State Farm, BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester, and Cam Wilder. Former and current NBA players are included with the celebrities, as former player-turned-analyst Richard Jefferson and Oklahoma City Thunder player Jared McCain are also competing.

The event takes place on Friday night in Los Angeles as part of the upcoming All-Star Weekend, which also includes the annual Celebrity All-Star Game, followed by the Rising Stars Game, NBA 3-Point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest.

Interestingly enough, at least one of Williams’ rivals on the football field is also participating in the Celebrity All-Star Game. Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is one of the members of NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo’s squad.

The celebrity game also includes ESPN’s NBA insider Shams Charania, rapper Glorilla, actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key, former NBA player Jeremy Lin, and NFL tight end Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers.

Williams has already shown he’s a must-see player whenever he’s involved in a game. It should be interesting to see if the Bears QB’s athletic abilities carry over to shooting treys in basketball after showing he can connect on laser-precision passes to teammates and bombs down the field with scary precision.
