Bears Linked to Stealing Free Agent Starter From Packers
The Chicago Bears are fresh off of a heartbreaking conclusion to an otherwise magical 2025 NFL season.
Caleb Williams and company got off to a slow start to the season. However, by the end of the year they not only made the playoffs, but also ended up winning the NFC North division title.
Heading into the offseason, there is a lot to be excited about. Over the last few years, the Bears have done an excellent job of building a roster. Now, they can simply focus on adding onto a roster that was a clear-cut Super Bowl contender.

With that being said, it will be interesting to see what Ryan Poles has in mind to help Chicago take another step forward in 2026.

Heavy’s Daniel Arwas has come up with an interesting potential target for the Bears. He thinks Chicago could consider targeting a Green Bay Packers’ free agent starter.
That potential target is none other than offensive tackle Rasheed Walker.
“The current Packer is easily the top left tackle prospect on the market, and Ben Johnson would no doubt find great joy in poaching one of his rivals former players at one of the most important positions in the game,” Arwas wrote.
In recent years, the Bears have continually signed former Packers players. That trend could very well continue this offseason.
Standing in at 6-foot-6 and 324 pounds, Walker has shown signs of big potential in Green Bay. There have been some consistency issues for him, but the sky is the limit. Making the move to Chicago would add more help for Williams.
At the end of the day, protecting a franchise quarterback should be priority number one. Ben Johnson and Poles have done a good job of doing just that over the last two years. Bringing in Walker could be another step in that direction.

Add in the fact of stealing a starter from the Packers and this potential move sounds even better.
Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Bears this offseason. Chicago is not far away from making a run at a Super Bowl and no one should think that Poles will pull his foot off the gas anytime soon.
