Bill Belichick Takes Patriots Pettiness to New Level With Reported UNC Ban
Make no mistake, Bill Belichick can still hold a grudge at an elite level, especially if the New England Patriots are involved.
The University of North Carolina head coach certainly has his own issues to worry about after his embarrassing college debut. However, a new report indicates, Belichick is still plenty concerned about what’s going down in Foxboro, Mass.
According to former NFL scout and podcaster John Middlekauff, Belichick has taken his level of petty to new heights, reportedly banning Patriots scouts from the campus.

“I was told by multiple people that (Belichick) has banned the New England Patriots, if you’re a scout for the New England Patriots, you are not allowed at the University of North Carolina, which is funny but also kind of embarrassing,” Middlekauff said on his podcast.
“Because Bill Belichick for multiple decades, my guess, has made over $200 million working for Robert Kraft. (He) became an absolute legend winning Super Bowls, going to Super Bowls and just kicking the (expletive) out of everybody with Tom Brady. And then it got ugly, and he lost, and he got fired.
“You know what that’s called? That’s called football. … People get fired. But to ban the New England Patriots, that’s like an eff you to Robert Kraft. Guess what Robert Kraft’s not doing? Ever making a school call in the history of his life. He’s never going to any of these universities. It’s just some random kid, some random guy that works for Eliot Wolf going to the school.”
It’s still very early in Belichick’s Chapel Hill tenure. In fact, the Tar Heels weren’t really expected to contend for much in his first season. That being said, no one predicted things would look as bad as they did in the debut.
Quite frankly, UNC at this point just doesn’t have the sort of talent to hang in big-time college football. And if that’s the case, maybe the Patriots are best staying out of North Carolina anyway.
