Bills Land ‘Bully’ WR Weapon for Josh Allen in Mel Kiper’s Mock Draft
It’s no secret the Buffalo Bills need some better wide receivers if the team is going to be a true Super Bowl contender.
Last year’s group of pass-catchers — a list that includes Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Brandin Cooks, Tyrell Shavers, and Curtis Samuel — was serviceable but certainly not talented enough to compete with the top secondaries in the AFC.
General manager Brandon Beane tried to be aggressive in landing both Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints and Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins at the trade deadline back in November, but he couldn’t close either trade.

Some believe Buffalo’s best chance of landing a game-breaking receiver is to draft one, which is why ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. believes the Bills should go after arguably the toughest and most physical WR in the 2026 draft in Washington’s Denzel Boston.
“Boston’s hands, catch radius and vision would quickly make him a go-to option for quarterback Josh Allen,” Kiper Jr. wrote. “He finished with 881 yards and 11 scores last season, bullying opposing cornerbacks along the way. Buffalo’s receiver room has a lot of questions and lacks a true WR1, all due respect to Khalil Shakir.
“After being called out by ownership last month, Keon Coleman’s future with the team is murky. Brandin Cooks and Gabe Davis are free agents. Joshua Palmer was injured and limited to 22 catches on the season. And Tyrell Shavers tore an ACL in the playoffs. So, this one seems obvious.”

Boston led Washington with 62 catches, 881 yards, and 11 touchdowns last season. He also won 76.9% of his contested catches, per Pro Football Focus — something the Bills offense could use a lot more of.
Adding a young, cost-controlled wideout like Boston would go a long way toward legitimizing Buffalo’s WR corps, especially if the team signs a decent free-agent pass-catchers like Mike Evans, Jauan Jennings, Alex Pierce or Romeo Doubs.
Fans know Allen can carry the team on his back, but this offseason is Beane’s chance to show him he doesn’t have to.
