Bills Predicted to Land New Weapon for Quarterback Josh Allen
With all due respect for Kalil Shakir, the Buffalo Bills lack a true No. 1 wide receiver for star quarterback Josh Allen to target with the game on the line.
The Bills have a host of capable receiving options like Shakir, tight end Dalton Kincaid and now wide receiver DJ Moore, who was acquired for a second round pick, but the team still has a need at the position.
Buffalo hasn’t had a 1,000-yard wide receiver since Stefon Diggs in 2023, but that could change if Buffalo does as ESPN’s Matt Miller suggests.
In his new mock draft, Miller has the Bills picking up a key weapon.

Miller admitted the Moore trade certainly helps the Bills and their NFL MVP quarterback, but adding former Indiana standout Omar Cooper in the first round can’t hurt.
“The DJ Moore trade helps next season, but the 29-year-old receiver is on the decline. Cooper is an accomplished route runner with experience in the slot and on the outside. He’s dependable with great hands — only three drops on 94 targets last season — and the physicality to run through contact before and after the catch,” he said.
During the 2025 campaign, Allen finished with 3,668 passing yards – his lowest total since 2019, just his second year in the league. Cooper, meanwhile, racked up 69 receptions for 937 yards and a stunning 13 touchdowns during the Hoosiers’ title-winning season.
