Bills QB Josh Allen Makes NFL History in High-Scoring Game vs Rams

The Buffalo Bills just came up short against the Los Angeles Rams in what turned out to be the highest-scoring game of the season.

While there is plenty of credit to be given to multiple Rams players, all eyes are currently on Bills quarterback Josh Allen who made NFL history,

Allen completed 22 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns while also recording 10 carries for 82 yards and three touchdowns.

This makes Allen the first player in NFL history to record three passing and three rushing touchdowns in a single game.

In tonight’s game, Allen’s three passing touchdowns were split between three players: wide receiver Khalil Shakir, wide receiver Mack Hollins, and running back Ty Johnson.

Shakir recorded five receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown, Hollins recorded four receptions for 57 yards and one touchdown, and Johnson made two receptions for 55 yards and one touchdown.

Additionally, wide receiver Amari cooper made six receptions for 95 yards.

That being said, Allen’s record-breaking performance was not enough to stop Buffalo getting upset by Los Angeles.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford also had an incredible game, recording 23 completions for 320 yards and two touchdowns.

Wide receiver Puka Nacua was Stafford’s favorite target, making 12 receptions for 162 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed five times for 16 yards and a touchdown.

Running back Kyren Williams also had a standout performance, recording 29 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns while also making two receptions for 10 yards.

Finally, former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp made five receptions for 92 yards and one touchdowns.

This performance once again cements Allen firmly in the NFL MVP conversation. So far this season, Allen has recorded 230 completions for 2,691 yards and 20 touchdowns as well as 334 rushing yards for six touchdowns.

Allen’s closest competition for MVP are Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.

Already a two-time MVP, Jackson is currently leading the NFL in multiple stats, including touchdown percentage, passing yards per attempt, and rushing yards per attempt.

This season, Jackson has completed 254 passes for 3,290 yards and 29 touchdowns while rushing for 678 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Barkley has broken the Eagles franchise record for most rushing yards in a single season. He currently leads the NFL in rushing attempts, yards, yards per attempt, and yards per game.

In total, Barkley has recorded 266 rushing attempts for 1,623 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Needless to say, Allen has his work cut out for him. Still, if anyone can pull it off, it’s Josh Allen.
